Hey there!

magic maker | memory catcher | light chaser

Time for a quick Q&A

“Why should we choose you to shoot our wedding, family or branding?”

My clients always comment on how at ease I make them feel in front of a camera and I strive to make any shoot an experience rather than just a standard photo shoot.

I’ve been described as a “professional hype girl”.

I pride myself on my ability to make you feel good about yourself, we should all feel good about ourselves!

“What makes you so passionate about great photographs?”

So glad you asked!

My understanding of the value of a photograph has amplified since my firstborn was diagnosed with a serious and life threatening illness as a baby. My work is more focused on the human connection and capturing personalities over “look at me and say cheese”.

I truly understand how fleeting time is. how precious memories are and how lucky I am to be able to give my clients the gift of a frozen moment-in-time.

“Who are ya?”

Well, you will have (hopefully) already guessed by my business name that I’m Lucy!

But, I’m also a wife, mother and cat-mum based in the gorgeous village of Walkington on the outskirts of Beverley where I spent my childhood.

For the past decade (or there about!) I lived in Chicago, Illinois where I married my soulmate and brought into the world our two children, River & Tilly (the cats came first, Lula and Heathcliff!)

We decided to swap the American dream for Yorkshire village life and arrived back home in early 2020.

“So why choose the photographer’s life?”

I’ve always marveled at the human connection.

One of my earliest memories is taking daydream-photographs. With my imagined camera I’d take mental snapshots of the compositions I’d see in everyday life. I’m absolutely certain that this lend to my crazy-good memory.

Teenage years I was “THAT” friend, the one always pointing a camera at you. Whether point and shoot or disposable, cameras were my best friend. The excitement of getting your images back, sat outside a Boots chemist, those were the real feels!

Early 2000’s mum took a serious interest in photography and I was very curious. After winning a camera in a local competition as she already had her own kit, she gave it to me. Shout out to my momma!

Well, I was hooked from there on, my weekends were spent convincing friends to model for me. My mum would go on to become an award winning and published photographer (who now second shoots for me at weddings; I’m pretty sure I have the most qualified second shooter in all the land!).
